241) I honestly was NOT sad when i took this

For some reason, one of my eyes by itself appears to look REALLY sad...strange...

This picture is to illustrate my leg warmers (lower left side). I had to wear leg warmers because I was wearing tights today. I was wearing tights today because I have no clean clothes left. I am slow to do many necessary tasks...like laundry.

Edit: Oh my GOD major type-o. I was NOT sad when I took this, and that was what the title was SUPPOSED to be. It's funny because I was NOT sad at all, but for some reason LOOKED that way because you could only see one of my eyes. Sorry for anyone becoming concerned about my mental health or anything...I'm good.

240) this honestly is no scarier than it was pre-color inversion

safewalk makes me a little crazy

(safewalk=student employment)

239) a saturday night for the books

Saturday night+homework+separation from friends=Harumph

238) ACK

I am horrified by my general appearance in this photograph, but when you go for walks in the big city...sometimes you find wonderful friendly cats.

237) woop

that guy behind me! that's my husband, bob. he rocks.

not my real husband. my musical theater husband.

236) can you spot me?

on my way hooooome. :)

235) maybe it's that college water

I've been liking my hair lately. for some reason. *shrug*

This, I think, was taken in the hallway of my floor at about 1:30 AM. Woop.

Also, I've started saying "woop" and I don't know why.

231) Soft

230) the 5 a.m. sort

Could my forehead look any more elongated here without digital editing? I think no.

229) I'm such a darn hipster

Actually, I had these shoes before I knew what a "hipster" was. But now when I wear them, I feel like one. So I peg the bottoms of my jeans, just to add to the effect. Because I'm a cool kid.

228) Weirdo

I arrive at one of my morning classes early on purpose so I can rest on this bench. You can't see the bench itself, but that's not the point.

226) Facial expression fail

This was supposed to be an annoyed/exasperated/weary emotion...I think it ended up looking a little too pretty for my intentions. I am frequently found in this position, reading until my brain falls out. Reading Freud and dead Frenchmen and prominent gay/lesbian/transgender scholars, mostly. Lots of theory. Lots, and lots, of theory. Sometimes I just smile and nod at these pages, not comprehending a word.

Word.

225) How handy

(bah dum chhhh)

I like my baby camera more and more. I'm really getting the hang of all the macro settings and what not....now I just need to take photography classes and actually learn how to create interesting effects with lighting and space. I can compose a good shot, generally. I just don't have much technical skill to speak of.

Also, in case you didn't know: You will never see a photoshopped image on my blog. I just don't play it like that. I don't pretend to take good pictures when I can't. If something miraculously turns out really cool, that was all me (and by "me" I mean luck). If I use Paint or something corny like that....you'll know.

224) All the great windows

The perfect round windows on a library fourth story, for instance. Way more fun to sit and watch passerby than to study. Way more fun.

Also, this just in: I am headless.

223) Product Placement

I'm in love with this candidate. He's perfect for my state. He's just what we need. If you're from good old MN, check him out. www.entenza.com

P.S. He and I are good buds. Just kidding. We did meet, though.

I live on the 4th floor

Look at that hand!

I love this picture

I've been documenting all of the best stairwells

These sandals are so good.

219) A corner room

My room is in the corner of the building, facing away from the rest of campus over the beautiful tree-lined avenue below. Two windows on two different walls allow us more natural light than most other rooms. I am very fond of this.

The area shown consists of my feet, an eco-friendly mini fridge, and electric tea kettle, bamboo plants, a family-size bag of Doritos (I know), a huge box of Target brand honey nut cheerios, and a wonderful painted fabric celebrating green energy. Allegedly many of these were used for something on campus last year...found it at a rummage sale, and now it's on my wall. Oh, and a very loud butterfly chair also from Target.

218) Student employment?

I love this photo.
It represents me making money waiting for calls for the Safe Walk program here...and doing homework while doing it. Nice?
It also represents the free laptop-checkout system the Campus Center has.
And the fact that our food service, the "Cafe", is filled with flags from all of the home countries of our students.

217) College is naps

When I should be doing homework. Like...........reading the most boring essay about laughter ever written.

216) peaceful mornings

sitting alone in my room doing homework is nice early in the morning, but sometimes sitting alone makes me homesick. I do miss mo-town a lot.

but classes start tomorrow. eeeeeeeeee!

213) Saxomaphoooone....

I played this instrument for the first time in ages last night. As a result, I am way stressed out about auditions. :\

212) Buahahahahaha

I stole my amigo's hat before he moved out of town. He can't have it back until next time I see him. Heh heh hehhhh.

Yes, this picture is nearly identical to yesterday's....oh well. I'm WAY behind posts for the year, so I'll probably do something totally different later today and put that up as well.

211) Real-life exploring

If you're keeping score, yes I wore this outfit two days in a row. Shut up. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

My aunt's house for some reason today contained an authentic Indiana Jones hat that was created when the original movie came out decades ago. Great quality, timelessly jungle-chic? Eye dee kay. I thought it was amazing, and it fit my big fat head. So, that was cool.

Speaking of exploring.......
I'm moving to college in two days.
GULP.

210) the pretty boy grabbed a latte

I'm listening currently to this bluegrass song by The Duhks, and I can't understand some of the words very well...the title of this post? Something that I thought I hear in the song. :S Yeah, in a bluegrass song about an Oklahoma outlaw.

Anyway. My mirror is really dirty, but I might never clean it because I like how it comes out in pictures.

I got a lot of compliments on my appearance this day. Turns out when I actually bother to do make-up and put three minutes of effort into my hair [a ponytail], people notice.

209) Traded the universe

Life stole my red sunglasses from me, and promptly replaced them with some pink-and-white checkered ones. I'll take what I can get.

208) bunny love

I love the state fair.

207) halfed

Most of my friends have left home, now...it's a wonderful and horrible feeling. Each of them has stolen a little piece of me and taken it off with them.

206) All squishy...

Details of this incident can be viewed here.

205) Life is so pleasing sometimes.

Even if my face doesn't show it?

204) South Dakota

happens. Embrace it.

203) SPLAT

Out in the prairie countryside by night, we can be found cooking vegetarian meals and splatter-painting.

202) Woosh

Sometimes I have bad days.

201) Love this place

Arriving at work at 6 am, and not unlocking the doors until 7:30 am. One of my favorite things of the summer. Having the coffeeshop to myself whilst I baked, brewed, and stocked. It's a fabulous thing. One morning, I had no customers until almost eight thirty. Even though I had good music to play and the aroma of fresh cookies and coffee cake to savor, the morning was just too perfect to pass up...I sat outside on a cement ledge next to the door about 6 feet off the sidewalk.

You can kind of see the fogginess of the morning in the reflection on the window.

200) TWO HUNDRED?!

This picture is not flattering of me. I look at it and see my awkwardly proportioned cheek bones, small teeth, and colorless hair. But that's not what this blog is about...looking good. What is this blog about, anyway? Feeding my "Me-Generation" narcissistic tendencies?

Possibly.

Never lacking the feeling that I have something to get done?

Probably.

Anyway. If you're reading this, thanks. I wish I was doing this project in its intended form. Maybe someday I will. Right now I'm satisfied with this.

199) Hint of Italy in the middle of the midwest

That's what a friend told me I appeared to be, at least. I love this picture.

198) All fancy-like.

My pictures sometimes seem way more pleasing to my eye when they are upside down.

197) sleeping out-of-sync

Two weeks ago, I covered my bed in my entire wardrobe to sort it out and donate much of it to the Salvation Army.

It's still there.

I've been sleeping like this, instead. On my futon.

196) Ah, county fair.

I felt like a little kid going on all those rides.

195) Something new to think about

bored with life? stab new holes in your ear!
